British Values

What are the 4 Main British Values?

Democracy

At St Paul's, pupils, parents, and staff should have the right to have their voices heard.

The Rule Of Law

At St Paul's, we learn about the importance of laws and rules and how they allow us to distinguish between right and wrong.  Laws and rules govern and protect us and we learn to respect the civil and criminal law of England.

Individual Liberty

At St Paul's, we promote the freedom of choice and the right to respectfully express views and beliefs in a safe environment.  We are supported to understand that we have rights and personal freedoms and are supported to exercise these safely and to become as independent as possible.

Mutual Respect and Tolerance of Those with Different Faiths or Beliefs.

At St Paul's, we encourage everyone to take responsibility for their behaviour, demonstrating mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths or beliefs.  We teach empathy for, and understanding of, people from different backgrounds and also learn about different cultures and beliefs to reinforce messages of tolerance and respect. We understand and respect values different from our own.
