Year 3 and 4 Salford Touch Rugby 2019

On Monday 20th May, 2019 we attended the Year 3 and 4 Salford Touch Rugby Competition at the A.J. Bell Stadium, hosted by Salford Reds and Dean Gilmore of the SSP.

We won all our group matches playing fantastically throughout, utilising space and scoring some great tries running deep into the corners. We won, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0, 3-0.

We also played defensively well without conceeding a single try throughout the whole group stage (4 games). We only conceeded 2 in the whole competition.

As we were top of our group we went through to the semi-finals.

We came up against Holy Family, who went on to win the whole thing, and lost 0-2 although still played tremendously well, they were just an amazing team.

Our 3rd and 4th play-off then went into extra time and golden try. Having played for another 4 minutes overtime, we began to take players off one by one, there was still no result and Dean Gilmore called it a tie.

Joint 3rd out of the whole of Salford, not bad for our first time at this event.

I am exceptionally proud of the whole team for this result, they gave their all every game and I cannot wait to see what these boys achieve over the next few years at St. Paul's.

Well done to Holy Family who really were a fantastic team and a huge thank you to Dean and Salford Reds for organising this event.

Mr. Hutson.
